Emergence of International Car Brands in India

Most of us would like to flaunt super luxury cars manufactured by international brands. With the stupendous economic growth in India, international car brands are making bee lines in the Indian Automobile Industry. With the industry's high-end international cars are setting franchises in India, these super luxury cars are not rare on Indian roads.

Porsche Automobil Holding SE, known as Porsche SE, a European Public Company, is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury high performance automobiles, which is majority-owned by the Piëch and Porsche families. It is headquartered in Zuffenhausen, a district of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg.

The official Porsche cars importer for India was established as Precision Cars India Private Limited in 2007.The promoters have a vision of offering the highest quality products coupled with after sales service to provide customers an unparallel buying experience.

Porsche has introduced the entire range of its cars in India spearheaded by 'junior' 911, the Boxter and the Cayman. Porsche started out its maddening journey with the first car having the Porsche badge, a Porsche 356 sports car that hit the streets in 1948.

After its success, there were many luxurious cars manufactured by the Porsche that include Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, Porsche 911 GT2, Porsche 911 Turbo, Porsche Cayenne, Porsche Panamera, Porsche 911 Carrera, Porsche 911 GT3, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayman.

Another International Brand that created waves in the Indian Automobile Industry is Lamborghini which is an Italian manufacturer in sports cars. It was owned by Ferruccio Lamborghini, a businessman in 1963.

Their models are generally two seated cars equipped with luxurious exteriors and interiors, powerful engine and mind-blowing speed that cater to mainly high-end buyers in India. It has available in India with models like Gallardo Spyder (convertible), Gallardo (coupe), Superleggera (coupe) and Murcielago (both coupe and convertible).

Lamborghini cars are generally known for their luxury and style. Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is an open-top version of the Coupe having attractive a unique system for opening and closing the fabric roof and new design. The roof lowering/raising system of the Gallardo Spyder is based on an electronic control system with electro-hydraulic actuators.

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder is a super luxury sports car mounted with V10 engine, F1-style transmission and top speed of 315 kmph. Murcipelago is the fastest sports car that carries panache Lamborghini principles of sport, purism and function.
Mercedes Benz was another company which shared a major chunk in the high-end segment of international cars. It is a German manufacturer of buses, automobiles, trucks and coaches. It is a division of its parent company, Daimler AG which was previously owned by Daimler-Benz. It has been delighting customers with a wide range of strong brands in latest automotive technology.
It is the only luxury car maker in India that has wide range of cars like S-Class, M-Class, C-Class, E-Class, CLS-Class, CL-Class, GL-Class, SLK-Class and Maybach. The Tesla Roadster - Is it the World's First Serious Electric Car

The Tesla Roadster electric car has now gone into full public production, and with a chassis based on the acclaimed Lotus Elise and performance to match, this could be the first all electric car you would actually want to own. It also seems that with perfect timing Tesla has launched its new products into a world where, with uncertain petrol supplies and global warming, the electric car has suddenly become more appealing.
There have been a number of attempts in the past to produce a viable electric car, however the technology and public demand meant that these versions were never a great success. The biggest drawback was due to poor battery technology, which meant that such cars were lacking considerably in performance to keep up with modern traffic, and had a woefully poor range to match.

Now Tesla has launched its roadster, capable of hitting sixty in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 125mph, it has certainly challenged perceived stereotypes of an electric car. Ironically much of the delays that prevented the roadster from being launched back in 2007 were not due to the batteries, but were in fact because the electric motor was too powerful.

Initially it was expected that a two speed transmission would be required to enable the 248bhp electric motor to meet Tesla's performance targets, however the high levels of torque produced by the motor meant that a single speed option has now been used. In order to keep to their performance figures, Tesla have raised the maximum supplied current from the roadster's batteries.

The electric power comes from 6831 lithium ion cells, which give a maximum range of 220 miles. The batteries can be recharged by a conventional household electricity supply and the total charge time is around 8 hours. Like all rechargeable batteries, the lithium ion cells do have a finite life of around 5 years or 100,000 miles, although by the time they need replacing battery technology should have advanced even further.

Basing the Roadster's chassis on the tremendous Lotus Elise, meant that the Tesla has endowed the Roadster with excellent handling, and thanks to the weight saving aluminium design and instant power of the electric motor, it has the performance to match a modern supercar. Inside, the cockpit is very sparse with energy draining luxuries like electric windows or air conditioning absent, the Tesla roadster even utilises low energy car bulbs.

Sadly such cutting edge technology does not come cheap, and new Tesla roadster will cost the same as a brand new Porsche 911 turbo, however Tesla does plan to release a more affordable saloon, coupe and SUV in the future.

Certainly the Tesla Roadster leads the way in electric car technology, however with the cleaner and more economical hydrogen fuel cell engine technology advancing at a quite a pace, the Tesla may not hold the key to our motoring future.

Electric cars like the Tesla Roadster need to be as energy efficient as possible, which is why they use the very latest in car bulbs technology to ensure that the car lights draw as little power as possible from the vehicle's battery to increase its possible range. The latest lighting advances like LED technology, as seen in 501 LED bulbs, draws the fraction of the power of a standard car bulb yet produces a light that is comparable in brightness and power to HID xenon bulbs.
